C- Coincidence

I started writing this post whilst procrastinating revision for a GCSE exam, listening to the rain and thunder outside. If that isn't a good time to write an article, then I don't know what will be!

Coincidence is something I often think about. A lot of people believe in fate. I'm not sure if I do. But fate and coincidence seem to have a lot in common, and coincidences is something that's on my mind at the moment.

I don't know the plan for my life. Or your life. And you don't know the plan for my life, or your own life... What I'm getting at is life is a big unknown thing, that nobody really knows. Perhaps there is a God, and this God has our lives planned out. But, this failing, I'm putting it a lot down to coincidences.

Let's say you're running late to get the bus to school (it happens to the best of us), and then you trip on your way, so you have to spend time getting up, tidying up, and hurrying on. Is it coincidental that you tripped? Then you get to the bus stop, just as the bus is driving off (this has happened one too many times to me, I mean... the best of us). Is it coincidental that the bus drove off? Is it 'just my luck'? Is it fate? Or is there more to it.

That's a silly example, but it still helps me ask my question:

How many things were 'meant to happen', or 'bound to happen', and how many things happen merely by coincidence?

I suppose it's worth clarifying what I believe the difference is between fate and coincidence. Notice the words 'what I believe' - it isn't necessarily correct.
Fate - Something that was planned ages ago, perhaps as a result to our actions, and is going to happen regardless of what we do to try and change it.
Coincidence - Something that happens at a note able time, but with no real reason. It happened, and it's weird, but that's it.

I suppose I think a lot about coincidence because I'm still very much trying to figure out what I believe, where I stand in the world, and who I really am. And I personally think that whether things are happening
FOR A REASON, AND IT'S ALL MEANT TO BE
or
just because they are, and it's odd, but let's move past it
is something that will *hopefully* help me find these answers.

I don't know. This isn't very articulately worded, but then again, it's hard when I'm still trying to figure it out!
